Breaking Into Embrace

Sweet Jesus,
In Your most humble embrace
Of our humanity,
In Your most Holy Sacrament,
Bread now Body,
Wine now Blood,
In Your Passion for love,
Your Body breaks into us.
Your Blood flows, given up,
Poured into our hearts.
As You enter my soul
That desires You so much,
My heart falls into Yours,
The All of my desire,
As I am broken into You,
Communion of Brokenness,
Communion of Sacrificial Love.
Together our broken pieces
Fall together into a perfect fit,
Communion of Love,
Communion of Joy.
Hearts poured out,
Hearts embraced.

Beloved,
Master of my soul,
Hold my heart in Yours.
In joyous union hold me;
In Your passionate furnace,
Envelope me,
As my heart loses itself,
Drowning in the Passion
Of Your Love.

Hearts broken open,
Embrace.
Blood poured out,
Mingles.
Passionate union,
A firestorm of Love,
Consumes.

Rest, My Love

Heart most Sacred,
As I dissolve in the gift of Your Love,
My heart and soul rise, suspended in Your grace,
To meet You, most Sacred Heart of my Beloved Jesus.

My soul, my Lord, left with no resistance anywhere,
Abandons all to Your passionate Heart
And lifts all to You.

Use me, O Lord, for Your Holy Desire.
Create in me all that would satisfy Your thirst,
That would meet the union You hunger for.
Draw from this heart and soul
The response You crave.

You draw upon every part of me,
O Savior of my soul,
Drawing all in a singular motion
To Your Sacred Heart.
I move all to You completely.
Like a sacred dance,
You move, I follow.

Exuding from this precious union,
A sweetest nectar of love
Pools in this blending of hearts,
And in this sacred pool is dissolves
The thorns of Your humiliation
That surrounded Your Heart,
Dissolved away in a love that adores You,
That worships You beyond ability to speak
Or even comprehend.
No longer thorns that pierce,
But love that washes away memory
Of abandonment and humiliation,
Overcome in the love You desire.

My Beloved, freed of binding thorns,
You abandon Your Wounded Heart
Into the reservoir of Love
Collected from Your Love and graces in my soul,
Sweetened with the tears of love and sacrifice
Offered to Your Wounded Heart.
You immerse Your Wounds
Into the bath of our united love.
Tears and wounds are knit together in our hearts.
And Your Heart, once wounded,
Receiving what It desires,
Seems, if possible, overcome in love,
Healed and comforted,
Immersed in what You long for.

You rest, my Beloved, as I,
Held in the embrace
Of Love fully longed for
And fully received.
Rest, my Love, in the heart
That longs always for Yours
And longs to fill Your hunger
And wash away Your memory
Of all pain and all rejection,
Lost in all love.

Gathered Into My Heart

Rise from your prostration
And mount to My Cross, Beloved.
Embrace with love
My Heart spread out for you.
As the thorns entwine our love
And hold our hearts firmly
In our embrace,
So the world retreats
And we are one.
Hearts in communion,
Immune to death,
As thorns pierce
in a tender touch of love,
Spill forth their contents
And are taken up
In one Heartbeat of Love.

So I take you up
Gathered into My Heart.
Touch so pure,
Pain turned into delight,
Brokenness falls away
As hearts stirred to Life
Weld in Love
A singleness of Heart.

Pour out to Me your love
As I drink it up like wine
As the banquet of Love.
The taste of your love to Me
Is so sweetly intoxicating
My Heart moves, overflowing
In a fountain of Graces.
Your love is My delight.
As the Bridegroom searches out the Bride,
So I search out your love
Waiting to ambush your heart
And take you as My own.

Come, Beloved,
Into the arms that await you
And surrender to Me your heart.
Let me hold you as My own
Consumed in the eternal Fire
And sweetness of My Love,
Embracing the Sacrifice that binds
In eternal surrender
Our union of Hearts.

Holy Thursday

Here In My Hand

Here in my hand
I hold Your Heart,
Given to me at great sacrifice.
Here in my hand lies the King of Kings,
Overwhelmingly Majestic in stunning humility.

Tender Savior,
Gift from the Heart of God,
You beg to be consumed,
To be so taken in
That You become one with us
In every cell, in every thought,
In the beating of our hearts
And each breath we take.

Here You must be, in everything,
Just as You are.

But we seldom see, hear,
Touch, love totally, as You long for.
Our thoughts turn so easily earthward
While You try so hard to lift us up
To You, O Master, Creator,
Lover of our souls, as You are
One with our bodies,
Part of every cell,
Food for the journey,
The journey to Your Heart,
That room prepared for us.

Love so dense it takes on form,
A form such that would break
So easily in our hands,
So You come, O Loved One,
In infinite humility and vulnerability,
Begging to be consumed
In a heart on fire with love,
Enraptured with Your touch,
With the power of Your grace,
With the tenderness and
Passionate trembling
Of Your precious Heart;
So I consume You
And make You my own,
My heart falling into Yours,
Where it longs to be,
Where You long to hold it
Captive to Your holy grace
And Your thunderously powerful,
Infinitely sweet Love.

Come, my Love, and consume me
As I consume You
And our hearts tremble into union
In the passionate Fire
Of Your most Sacred Love.

Love Invades

My heart cannot survive
The rain of Your Heart upon me.
Dissolving into Your Love,
Melting into Your embrace,
Nothing remains but You,
And I, lost in Your Love,
Revel in my nothingness in You.

For You, O Majestic One, own my soul.
And You, O Mighty One, gather my thoughts.
And You, O Passionate One, inflame my heart
And keep it on the hearth
Of Your passionate, most Sacred Heart.
You take control of everything I am
And place the Fountain of Your Heart
In the center of this garden,
My heart made for You.

I come to the Fountain
Where You wash away my failures,
Asking only for my love.
Deeply, Love invades the inner regions
Of my heart and soul,
Casting even my human heart
Into the cauldron of Your Love.
I am Yours, my Love,
Deeper than I even knew I was.
Your Life invades and I,
Surrendered to You,
A willing captive,
Rejoice in Your deeper conquests
And tighter bonds
Of my heart to Yours.

Nothing can stop You now
As You make my heart Yours.
Your embrace ever deeper,
The sweetness of Your Love
Like a delicate sting of prey,
Leaves me completely powerless to resist,
Overcome by the tenderness
Of Your Precious Heart of Love.

Your Bread

Clinging to Your Cross,
Bound by love,
My heart attaches to Yours
In painful, loving union.
Keep me, O Lord, in Your care
As I attach to You more fully,
As I am crushed to become Your Bread
To be consecrated to You
And I am pressed to become the wine
That will be Your Life Blood in me.
Pour forth in me Your Life and Love
As You empty this chalice
To be filled with only You.

My heart is Yours, Beloved,
But as I am crushed,
I need Your gentle hands
To gather me up,
To knead me into the Bread
Offered to You.
Consecrate what You have made,
Wholly given over to You,
To Your most Sacred Heart.

Lord, strengthen me as I die in You.
Hold my utter frailty
In Your hands and Heart.
Moisten the dust of my death
With the water from Your Heart of Mercy
And make of me Your Bread,
Filled with the Love
Of Your most Sacred Heart.

As You feed this Bread
To Your people,
Will You still hold my heart
Close to Yours,
Embraced in Your Love
And in Your sacrifice?
Fully poured out,
Yet fully held in Your Most
Beloved Sacred Heart?

The Tabernacle Cell

I enter silently
Your Royal Throne Room to find
A cell of solitary confinement.
There, where You should be holding court
Surrounded by those to whom
You have given so much,
I find instead my King
Locked in a lonely cell,
Alone in silence, for so long.

As I bow before You, my King,
You call me from Your cell.
You come to meet my embrace
And your head falls to my shoulder
Where You weep.
For so long I console You,
My weeping Lord.

As Your sobs turn to sighs,
Your Precious Sacred Head
I hold in my hands.
I lay it gently in my lap
To comfort, to console,
To rest in my love.
As my love washes over You,
Your eyes close and I pray
You are forgetting being forgotten,
If only for a time.

As I pray for Your consolation,
Precious Drops of Blood
Form on Your brow,
Circling Your Head,
And slowly drop to my hands.
Catching these Drops of Salvation,
I am overcome with Your grief,
O Sacred Heart of the King of Love,
Who died to set us free
From the justice of our sins,
In Your Mercy.

You, O Precious Lord,
With Your Head in my lap,
Weep for our hearts,
Weep from Your lonely vigil
Waiting for our hearts
To turn to You.

You who have given all,
O Sacred Heart,
Heave a sigh for each of us,
Awaiting the touch of our hearts
In Your tabernacle cell.
I kiss Your Precious Head
And weep with You, my Lord.
Holding Your Heart in mine,
I carry You off in my heart,
Forever.

A Communion of the Heart

Dear Jesus, Holy Gift of Life,
It was Your plan, so like You,
To never leave us.
As if Your one death
Was not enough,
Each day on a thousand altars
As Your priests speak Your Words
And they raise You up once again,
You stretch out Your arms
In eternal self-surrender,
Allowing Your Body to be broken,
And die for us once again.
As the cup of Your Blood is raised
And then poured out into us,
Drop by drop Your Blood is drained again
As You lose Yourself into us
Until “it is finished”
And we are all that remains
Of Your Life-giving, Precious Blood.

O Precious Lord of Sacrificial Love,
Make me Your tabernacle.
Live in me, grow in me,
That I may carry You to Your people.
Your Body one with mine,
Your Blood now my blood.
Make me Your shrine.

Teach me to surrender like You
Allowing my pride to be broken
So I may pour out Your Preciousness,
In continual sacrifice, to Your people.
Teach me to love You
In Your Sacrifice and Your people,
As You long to be loved.
Make Your longing my longing,
Your Sacrifice my sacrifice,
Your passionate love for me
My passionate love for You
In this altar and
In all of Your altars.

You, O Sacred Heart of Love,
Now enthroned within me,
May I encounter You, as in Emmaus,
In the Breaking of the Bread.
But also, as the tears of Your people,
Your Body, drop to the ground,
May I encounter Your shedding Blood
In their shedding tears.
Make me Your tabernacle.
May I bring them Hope in Your Resurrection.

From the desert to the garden

This week we move, in my Lenten series, from the desert prayer poems to the Last Supper and the Garden of Gethsemane. Some of these in the series have been published before on this blog. The first one of this week has been published before, but I will copy it below so you don’t have to try to find it.

Floodgate of Love

O Holy Communion of Life and Love,
My Precious Lord,
I see through Your eyes
That Upper Room
So warm, so full of Your Precious Love
And their hope in You.
Your Heart wells up with Love,
Your eyes with tears,
As You slowly gaze at them, so innocent…
How Your Heart desires to hold this moment.
How Your Heart desires to hold their faith
And touch their hearts with Your Love.
Your Heart tears as You tear the bread
Knowing all too soon they will betray You, deny You.
How You long for their innocent love,
Their trusting faith, to hold in Your Heart
Protecting it from the darkness to come!
As You hold the bread in Your Hands, hesitating,
Everything You are pours into this Bread.
As You break the Bread, Your Sacred Heart breaks also.
The Passion begins.

Sharing Your Broken Body with those You love
Your Sacred Heart burns, longing for this moment:
“I have longed with all My Heart to share this supper with you.”
You look deep into the chalice of red wine.
A tear drops and mingles with the wine of forgiveness,
A token of Your humanity and ours.
As You speak Your words of Love
The wine becomes Your Precious Blood.
As You gaze into the depths of the chalice
You see what is to come, drinking in with Your Spirit
Your Covenant of Love.
Passing the Chalice of Your Blood to Your people,
They drink of it, sealing their Covenant with You
In Your Eternal Love.

O Holy Communion of Love,
You stand before us like a floodgate,
Aching to pour forth Your contents,
You long for and wait for our glance of recognition!
A faithful, loving glance and Your Host Body
Crumbles as the floodgate opens
And we are flooded with Your Graces and Love
And made new.

O Sacred Floodgate of Love
Break through our hearts and flood our souls!
